Vanderbilt brings students together to innovate and create in a supportive learning environment. It's a school of thought that favors collaborative over competition. Vanderbilt gives students access to faculty and opportunities to conduct research in a lab, out in the field or in a creative setting no matter their chosen majors.

Vanderbilts financial aid program makes a top tier education available for talented scholars from all social, cultural and economic backgrounds. This school offers full-tuition awards, plus stipends for research projects, through their three signature merit-based scholarships. Vanderbilt may be expensive but there are ways to make school affordable. It was shown that in year 2023-24, 62.7 million dollars in scholarships for first-year students was given away. Sixty-five percent of undergrads receives some form of financial assistance.

Their admissions policies support recruiting and building a student body from myriad backgrounds and from all over the world. The on campus programs and resources including many of their Identity Centers, which are designed to promote a sense of belonging and support throughout the undergraduate experience are excellent. Their goal is to promote diversity, equality, and inclusion. Vanderbilt's main page quote says, "Universities such as ours exist because of an unshakable belief in human potential. We must do whatever it takes to create an environment in which all members of our community can thrive and contribute to their full potential."

According to their financial system it is quite different than many institutions. Berkley University does not give scholarships for visiting international students. What keeps the rate of the incoming freshman so high is the opportunity that their own government gives them. The students are able to obtain scholarships and loans from their home country's government, university, local organizations, or financial institutions.

At UC Berkley they encourage international students to search for these opportunities or talk to an international coordinator or adviser at their university. Many students also provide their own private funds to pay some if not all of their expenses.

Many reviews were provided on different websites for UC Berkely. Some students stated that their experience was a lot more difficult than others and how they were a little disappointed in the program. Other students claimed that it was an amazing experience and that they had an outstanding time. And some students stated that the school system was good, but it was very difficult to fit in and get accustomed to the schools culture. Through out all the reviews, one thing that everyone had in common was that, in the end, UC Berkely was much needed and appreciated. If they had to they would do it all over again.
